JD Christmas Event Competition Terms and Conditions

By taking part in this competition, you accept and agree to these terms and conditions. If you do not agree with any of these terms and conditions, then you should not take part in the competition. It is your responsibility to ensure that you review the terms and conditions before entering the competition. We, JD Sports Fashion plc (“JD Sports”), recommend that you print and store or save a copy of these terms and conditions for future reference during the competition. JD Sports is the promoter of this competition in conjunction with Sidekick (company number 12419251 and whose registered office address is at 3 The Mount, Trumpgreen Road, Virginia Water, Surrey, GU25 4EJ ("Sidekick”) who will be running this competition.

1. What can you win?

There will be multiple winners of two (2) of the below prizes and one (1) winner of one (1) of the prizes. The number of winners is set out below. The prizes and/or tokens are as follows:

• A token to be entered into a raffle to win a £1,000 JD Group gift card (there will be not be a limit on the number of tokens available but there will only be one winner of this prize. For more information, please see clause 6 below);

• A £5 JD Group gift card (800 of these prizes are available to win); or

• A Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 bundle (the game and 2 x 2400 points) (12 of these prizes are available to win).

To be in with the chance to win a Prize you must attend the JD Sports Christmas Event at Victoria Place, Belfast from Friday 15th December 2023 to Tuesday 19th December 2023 (the “Participating Event”).

The Prize is subject to availability (including availability of console options for the Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 bundle which may be chosen by the winners of this Prize) and subject to winner confirmation (i.e. JD Sports has been able to contact winners and has been able to confirm eligibility). JD Sports has the right to change, alter or withdraw the competition or Prize at any time due to any change in any applicable law or any events outside the control of JD Sports. JD Sports shall not be responsible for any delay, cancellation or rescheduling of the Prize. If any part of the Prize is not claimed (for whatever reason), JD Sports is under no obligation to supply an alternative prize.

2. What is excluded from the Prize?

It is the winners’ responsibility to organise and pay for anything excluded from the Prize.

3. Who can enter?

Entrants must:

• be aged 18 years or over;

• be a resident of England, Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland;

• have downloaded the JD Status app; and

• attend the Participating Event.

JD Sports reserves the right to ask the winners to provide proof of age. Employees (and their immediate family) of the JD Sports group here or anyone else professionally connected with this competition are not eligible to enter the competition. JD Sports reserves the right (at its sole discretion) to decide if the eligibility criteria are met. If the eligibility criteria are not met, the entry will be invalid.

4. How to enter

Entrants can enter the competition by:

1. Attending the Participating Event.

2. Downloading the JD Status app on their device and showing the Sidekick promotion team at the pop-up event that this step has been completed.

3. At the Participating Event they must participate in an arcade style “hit the target” game (the “Game”) where nine (9) targets will be stood up against a wall in the game booth. The targets will consist of three (3) sets of three (3) matching targets. Each entrant has three (3) attempts to hit the targets and must hit the same matching target three (3) times.

4. If successful in hitting the same matching target 3 out of 3 times, the participant will win the opportunity to put their hand inside a duffle bag to select a token at random to win one of the above Prizes. The participant’s chosen token will reveal which Prize the participant has won.

Internet service providers’ fees may apply when accessing the internet. No purchase is necessary to enter the competition.

By submitting any films or photographs as part of the competition entrants agree that JD Sports (and its affiliates) may use any films or photographs uploaded to market and promote the competition and for general marketing purposes both during the competition and after the competition has ended. Entrants will retain ownership of their copyright in such submissions.

Participation is limited to one entry per person at the Participating Event only. If more than one such entry is received, only the first entry will be accepted. No responsibility is taken for entries that are lost, delayed, misdirected or incomplete or cannot be delivered or entered for any technical or other reason.

5. Closing Times

The competition will commence on Thursday 23 November at 10am (UK time) and will end on Monday 19 December at 6pm (UK time). Any entries received after this date and time will not be valid.

6. How are winners selected?

The participants of the Game who hit the same matching target three (3) times within three (3) attempts will be given the opportunity to put their hand inside a duffle bag to select a token at random to win one of the above Prizes.

Winners of the “£5 JD gift card” will receive their Prize upon presentation of their token to the Sidekick promotion team.

Winners of the “Token to be entered into a raffle to win a £1,000 JD gift card” must provide their name, address, and email address to the Sidekick promotion team to be entered into the raffle. Following the competition, one (1) winner will be selected at random by JD from the raffle entrants and JD will arrange for the £1,000 JD gift card Prize to be posted to the winner within 30 days of the Participating Event ending.

Winners of the “Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 bundle (the game and 2x 2400 points)” must provide their name and email address to the Sidekick promotion team, such details are required for the purposes of receiving the Prize and will receive their Prize after the Participating Event has ended.

The decision of JD Sports is final and binding on all entrants. No correspondence will be entered into regarding the selection of the winners (other than with the winners themselves). In the event that the winner does not communicate their acceptance of the Prize within five (5) days following the end of the Participating Event, the winner forfeits, and will be considered to have waived their right to, the Prize and JD Sports is under no obligation to, and shall not, select another winner.

7. Winners’ Responsibilities

It is the winners’ responsibility to: (i) organise and pay costs for anything excluded from the Prize, including travel to and from the Participating Event; (ii) complete all stages of the How to enter section above and present evidence of such completion to a member of staff at the Participating Event; (iii) provide accurate contact details; (iv) provide valid proof of age, which is required to enter the competition; (v) adhere to local laws in the UK (vi) comply with any rules, instructions, requirements, terms and conditions or regulations of the event organiser. JD Sports will not be liable to the winners or any other persons where they fail to comply with such responsibilities and any such failure may result in forfeiture of the Prize.

Winners who have won a JD Group gift card must comply with JD’s gift card terms and conditions. A copy of the Ultimate Gift Card terms and conditions are set out here and on the reverse of the gift card.

8. Personal information

JD Sports will use personal information which you provide, or which we obtain through our dealings with you, to sign you up to marketing materials (if you have opted in to receive regular communication from JD Sports (and its affiliates) provided by JD Sports (and its affiliates) and to administer the competition. Provided you have opted-in to receive regular communication from JD Sports (and its affiliates), we may also use your personal data to tell you about JD Sports (and JD Sports affiliates) products and offers, and for market research including analysis and development of our products and customer relationships. Sidekick may use personal information which you provide for the purposes of you receiving the Prize in accordance with Sidekick’s privacy notice

9. Publicity

By taking part in the competition, entrants may be invited to participate in publicity at JD Sports’ request if they are a winner of the competition. Entrants agree that JD Sports (or any third party nominated by JD Sports) may in its sole discretion use their comments relating to the Prize and their experience for future promotional, marketing and publicity purposes in any media worldwide without notice and without any fee being paid (including for the avoidance of doubt when responding to any third party). Any use of images or other personal information that could identify entrants will be subject to the entrants’ consent.

JD Sports reserves the right to withdraw any or all of the Prizes (or any part of it) if a winner breaches any of the terms in these terms and conditions or if they are found to have acted in a dishonest or fraudulent manner.

10. Which law applies to this competition?

This competition is governed by the law of England and Wales and the participants of the competition submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in England and Wales.
